My name is Linda Ford. I am a qualified, UKCP registered Psychotherapist, and member of BACP, based in Penarth just west of Cardiff.I also have a Diploma in Supervision(2011). I offer psychotherapy and counselling to adults on a one to one basis, and also supervision to practitioners.

I believe we BECOME in relationship to another. I am interested in exploring, through relationship, and using our relationship, what it is that brings a person, you, to therapy. My approach is warm, accepting and valuing of where you find yourself. I am interested in how you came to the place you are now in, what contributed from your background to your current distress or confusion. And also feel that healing takes place in the searching and being together in the present moment.

These beliefs also apply to the SUPERVISION I offer where I hope to validate your approach and extend your understanding of your work.


I believe in the healing power of talking. I believe that 'letting things out' with someone who will listen empathically and accept us, can help us overcome the problems and difficulties that cause us distress and seem somehow insurmountable at times.

Sometimes a good friend can support us; but there are times when we want to be private and seek to look deeply into ourselves to find our way through difficulties or to find the meaning in our lives and this is when professional therapy can help and support.

I offer to form a 'therapeutic alliance' so that we can work together at your pace, in your direction and in a way that is safe, respectful and honouring of you.

My Psychotherapy and Counselling practice is grounded in my core belief in the Humanistic, Psychodynamic,Intersubjective and Transpersonal approaches which embody the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of our human 'being.' Further information is available on my 'Qualifications' page.
